Cholesterol

disruption of normal liver structure by fibrosis. Usually caused by alcoholism.

Colic, hepatic

hypochondrial or epigastric pain that travels up to the right shoulder, with nausea. Often caused by gallstones.

Colic, renal

severe pain in the lumbar region, usually irradiating to the thigh and abdomen. Main cause id lithiasis of the ureter (the duct linking the kidney to the bladder)

Colitis

mechanical, bacterial or amebic inflammation of the colon with alternating diarrhea, and constipation.

Coma

partial or total state of unconsciousness in which only the neuro-vegetative functions are left intact.

Condyloma

benign, wart-shaped tumor of the skin or mucosa (anal or genital).

Condyloma acuminatum

small tumor on the skin near the anus or genital organs. Usually shaped like small butterflies; can cover a wide surface. Caused by the same virus responsible for warts.

Conjonctivis

microbial, viral or allergic inflammation of the conjunctiva (transparent membrane that lines the eyeball and the inner surface of the eyelid)

Constipation

abnormally delayed or infrequent passage of fees.

Corn

small tumor located above the joint of a toe or on the sole of the foot. Thickening of the epidermis caused by a compression of tissues between shoe and bones, resulting in a spine that digs into the dermis.

Cramp, muscular

painful, involuntary, violent and temporary contraction of the voluntary muscles.

disorder of the digestive tract usually restricted to the ileus. Lesions alternate with healthy area.

infantile skin affection related to eczema, characterized by greasy crust on the scalp.

Cyanosis

bluish coloration of the skin due to deficient oxygenation.

Cystitis

inflammation of the bladder causing frequent, painful need for urination.

Cytomegalovirus

herpetic agent responsible for cytomegaloviral inclusion disease.

Callus

thickening of the skin of the sole of the foot at point pressure or friction. Sometimes (rarely) found on the hands.

Congestion, bronchial

partial or complete blockage of the bronchi by mucus.

Cholesterol -lowering

decreases blood cholesterol levels

Cyst

abnormal closed cavity filled with a liquid, solid or gas.

Counterirritant

inducing local inflammation to relieve congestion, and inflammation in underlying or adjacent tissues

Cold, common

any affection marked by coughing.

Cough, wet

cough accompanied by expectoration of bronchial secretions.

Cough, spastic

coughing fits causing spasms of the diaphragm, resulting in discomfort during deep breathing.

Chicken pox

viral infection marked by the formation of successive waves of small vesicles that dry after several days.
